Bent Pipe Flow Sensor — BF35
BF35 bent pipe (elbow) flow sensor generates differential pressure from the centrifugal force of fluid moving through a bend — a standard throttling device with no inserted elements and therefore zero additional pressure loss. Available as 90°, 135° elbow replacements and a 180° straight-line element.

Working Principle
Works on the fluid inertia principle: when the fluid passes around a bend it is forced into circular motion; the centrifugal force creates a pressure difference between the inner and outer sides of the bend. That ΔP depends on fluid density, average velocity and curvature radius — converted to flow via the Bernoulli equation.
Key Features
- No additional pressure loss: no inserts or throttling parts, saves pumping energy
- Long service life: high resistance to temperature, pressure, corrosion, wear and vibration; insensitive to slight wear
- Easy to install & maintenance-free: directly welded into the piping, no leakage or upkeep afterwards
- Available as 90° elbow (replaces existing bend), 180° straight-line element or 135° elbow replacement
