V-Cone Flow Sensor — BF30
BF30 V-Cone is a high-accuracy flow sensor for a wide range of media and service conditions, covering Reynolds numbers from 8×10³ to 5×10⁶. The cone element re-rectifies the velocity profile and creates a stable low-pressure zone immediately downstream, giving short straight-run requirements and a wide turndown.

Working Principle
A sharp-apux cone is suspended coaxially in the measuring tube. The cone re-rectifies the velocity profile; a low-pressure zone forms immediately downstream of the cone (negative tap at the cone centre-axis end face), while the high-pressure static tap sits on the tube wall upstream before the flow contracts. The ΔP between the two is converted to flow via the Bernoulli equation. The leading edge of the cone is a sharp angle giving a smooth transition into the low-pressure region.
Key Features

- Long-term stability: β constant, no recalibration
- Stable signal, low noise, low permanent pressure loss, no stagnant zones
- Wide β range 0.450–0.850 and Reynolds range 8×10³–5×10⁶
- Pipe (DN15–2000), wafer (DN15–150) and insertion (DN150–2000+) forms
