Thermal Mass Gas Flow Meter — BF60
BF60 thermal mass flow meter is dedicated to gases and measures mass flow directly without temperature or pressure compensation. Suitable for air, natural gas, flue gas, blast-furnace gas and various process gases, in in-line or insertion (large bore) form. Huge turndown up to 100:1 and can measure very small gas flows.

Working Principle
Thermal dispersion: the sensor carries two platinum RTDs — one heated, one acting as a temperature reference. Gas flow carries heat away; the heating power needed to maintain a constant temperature difference is directly proportional to the gas mass flow. This gives direct mass flow output (kg/h, Nm³/h) without temperature or pressure compensation.
Key Features
- Two probes: heating probe and temperature-measuring probe; insertion type for DN≥80
- Direct mass flow output — no density, temperature or pressure compensation
- Extremely wide turndown up to 100:1; measures very small gas flows and low-pressure gas
- No moving parts; low pressure loss
- Warning: recalibration required if gas composition changes markedly (thermal conductivity differs by gas)
