Coriolis Mass Flow Meter — BF80
BF80 Coriolis mass flow meter directly measures mass flow, medium density and temperature in one device — no pressure or temperature compensation needed. Works on liquids, gases and some two-phase flows and is widely used for custody-transfer metering. Ex d ia IIC T6 Gb rated; hygienic clamp versions for food and pharma.

Working Principle
An excitation coil drives the measuring tube to vibrate at high frequency. As fluid flows through the vibrating tube, the Coriolis force creates a phase difference between the inlet and outlet sides; the phase difference is proportional to the mass flow. At the same time the tube resonance frequency changes with medium density (density output), and a built-in platinum RTD measures medium temperature.
Performance
Liquid duty: mass accuracy ±0.10%~±0.50% (by size); repeatability 0.05%–0.25%; density ±0.002 g/cm³; temperature ±1 °C. Gas duty: mass accuracy ±0.50%~±0.75%; repeatability 0.25%–0.35%. Turndown standard 20:1. Temperature: −70~+160 °C general, −200~+60 °C cryogenic, −40~+300 °C high-temperature. Pressure: 4.0 MPa standard, 25 MPa high-pressure. Ex d ia IIC T6 Gb.
Advantages / Selection notes
Advantages: direct mass flow — unaffected by temperature, pressure, viscosity; outputs mass, density and temperature at once; measures high-viscosity liquids and some gas-liquid two-phase flow; no blocking parts in the measuring tube. Limitations: relatively expensive; sensitive to pipe vibration; small-bore mass flow is small and large-bore instruments are heavy. Selection: priority for liquid/gas trade metering; use anti-vibration supports; media that crystallize or foul will coat the vibrating tube and affect accuracy.
